Growing A bonsai
« on: December 19, 2007, 10:05:25 AM »
I've just developed a taste for bonsai.  Please can someone recommend a good tree that i could use - preferably one with rich dark green foliage.  Can someone also recommend a good book that i could follow to grow my bonsai successfully.

Cameel I just saw your post now . the best tree I think to start with is the natal fig its very hardy and grows easily and can take alot of punishment and not die I have one the dogs got hold of and pulled it out the pot and chewed , I repotted it and its still growing. Look for a book on growing bonsai in south africa and start with the basics ,its a good leason in patience.
enjoy.
