Amazing. You're a very good photographer, are you professional by any chance, or just super gifted?

Rachel,

Not at all and neither!

I just always loved playing with cameras -from the first time I had one - Believe it or not, my folks paid R14-99 for a funny and odd looking Kodak those years!

My advice to parents is to buy the kids a camera as soon as possible - people normally only take pictures of beautiful things and this is inspiring and positive reinforcement for children.

I like watching photographers and try to get some ideas from them during their shoots.  Let me add though, that nothing makes a better picture than fauna or flora!

What intrigues me is how 10 people can take the same photo at the same time and they will all look different - much like the simple photo of ex. an apple you might see in a glossy magazine, so crisp and fresh looking that you feel like eating it!

When my daughter started competing nationally in Gymnastics, I decided to get the right lens for that kind of venue where you are not allowed to take photos with flash light.  But those I am still practicing and trying to get better.

My secret is (when possible) to shoot more than one of the same subject - this way you are sure to have one or two that look good or better than the rest you took.  At least now with digital technology, you do not waste all the film as before...

Thanks for the compliment.
Regards

Midge
