Thank you for the lovely comments - here is a close up of the DS spike - each spike has hundreds of flowers.
When the DS in my rockery comes out I will do the Dendrobium Speciosum in a more natural setting under Orchids.
Dendrobium Speciosum is native flora to this area.

Just to clarify what feathers look like, here is a pix of Isa and Cleopatra in my backyard

And to make sure there is no confusion at all - this is what fur looks like   LOL

Enjoy the garden snaps :)

Very nice garden photos Abby. We acquired a Maltese puppy recently after we had a pleasant 16 years with the previous one. They are extremely clever animals. She had her first hair cut a week ago and now that the puppy fluff is gone she looks too quite.

Nice chooks! What breed are they? Our silkie hen, little hippie ch1ck, was caught by a mongoose yesterday and we've got seven little orphans to raise :'(

Sorry to hear about your hen Michael.  Shame.  All the best with the orphans.

So I see that's your pic and you're sticking to it? ;)
You really do look like a surfer-dude (aside from the popstar idea also!)

Best Regards,

Mel.

Heinie,
Talking about Your Maltese puppy, you bring back memories of when 'Sweet Thing' used to fit in a tissue box an was the size of a jogger

and always liked big things

Then the day came when I realised I was duped, with ears like that her mother must have been a good sport. Not quite what I paid for but she is a great gardening friend,

and a very much loved companion even if not quite all Maltese. It does have an advantage That I do not have to prune it all the time like my other Maltese as her hair only grows about 4" length or 10cm.

Do you use inches or centimetres?? OMG the Forum has gone to the dogs. ;)

Yes Mel
Yes, that jungle includes Azaleas in the background with clivias, hebes and a conglomerate of others.

Michael
So sorry to hear about the mongoose tragedy, thankfully we do not have those here.

But from the look of your (pix) avatar you look as if you will make a good substitute mother hen. ;) ;D
