Hi Jeremy

Thanks for these pics, it is a very special feeling when a plant grown from seed or a cutting flowers for the first time.  My late grandmother used to have a collection of African violets.  Unfortunately I hadn't discovered my love for gardening yet  :'(

Abby - what size is it if you call it a miniature?  Half the normal size?

Rena

The bloom and the plant are only a fraction smaller but the leaves are about a quarter size.

I will take a pix.

My african violets are now residing on the kitchen window sill where they get plenty of light.  Unfortunately I've had to take my indoors growing lamps down when we moved, and I have not set them up again.

 the white african violet Lindy  :)

I always grow mine on the window sill and they do just fine - the trick is that it they do not get the hot summer sun.

Thanks Abby.  I think in summer I'll move it to the spare room where it'll get an indirect light and it'll be cooler as the room has a ceiling fan :D
