  Very Nice bloom

I think maybe it has not connected to the other thread and that is why its a lonely bloom - the thread seems to have the same name?  ???

Beautiful.

There are two flowers in the pic, one is closed. Perhaps the title refers to that.

I am not sure why only one pic appeared, it is a photo of Fiesta del Flores.

Davey

Now I see the photo - amasing flower.

I got about ten epiphyllum cuttings from Obesa in October and tried them oustide in a shade dappled light spot under a tree....However the Cape Doctor decided to show his force shortly after and I had to put them inside to a warmer, calmer spot. I mist spray them once in a while and in three months time they have grown amasingly - I am hoping for flowers next year and then I will post some pics. A newly bought Adenium from Soekershof is also thriving very happily with mist spray in the same location as the Epis.

Davey - your signature indicates Oliday cactus nursery - I presume an H is missing but I could not find a ref on Google....Are you selling to the public and what kind of cactus do you keep?

Cheers

I think this is an epi - we have always known it a a maanblom (Moon flower) - it wasn't fully open last night when we took the photo, it usually gets to the size of a small/side plate.  Family of ours used to have a special evening and invite friends over to view the opening after dark.

Hi there

Haven't noticed a scent on the flowers yet - have been struggling to get a better photo - only just realised our outside light that shines on the plant has been causing the flowers not to open properly (when I put the light off the buds started opening almost straight away - and then I forgot to go back later to take a photo!).  But there are more buds and I can try again. I thought the flowers had been bigger earlier years (before we put up the light outside) and will see what size they open to now.

I have some Epiphyllum but have never seen it flower  ??? Maybe it is a nocturnal one ? Must bring it to closer proximity to see if it blooms and what colour.

Thank you Rena
It would be very nice to see more of this spectacular bloom.
