Logs or what?
« on: November 05, 2010, 23:53:54 PM »
I love old logs in gardens and this chap would like to be in their own thread -

But now another old plum tree has fallen over in the wind and this is part of what we're left with - wonder what Michael would see snoozing here.....?

I think the chap up the top might have a nibble on the unsuspecting gardener  ;D

It is a classic.

Well said, Stef, and this one doesn't even need to be fed or watered!

But unfortunately the friend that I was going to create for him was chopped up with the chainsaw before I could stop the murder..........

Yes, but his tooth went missing - I think Bella thought it was a chop bone (actually now that I think of it it was once a rib-chop bone that was nice and bleached by the sun......

Now he's looking for a fitting name.......

That is so cool Rena!

I wish I had a chainsaw! I'd be bringing logs here all the time. And making a fire every night. And making those beautiful wooden cubes to sit on. I'd be a chainsaw maniac!

The bottom one looked like a blind sea serpent, bless his memory. rip ol' log.....

Michael, I don't know if I'd let you loose in my garden with a chainsaw.......would there be anything left ;D

BTW - the 2nd one WAS going to be a sea serpent before "someone" got chainsaw-happy (great minds??)

sorry to take this off the subject of logs, but Michael's amusing comment about blessing the memory of the blind sea serpent - reminds me of the [assumedly unproven] theory that a goldfish only has a memory of about 5 seconds.  I had always felt so sorry for them, but now, I amuse myself using the theory - imagining what an exciting life they have - with every trip around the bowl it's now like "Wow! What a lovely bowl! (Never seen anything like it before!)"
 :D
Best Regards,

Mel.

Wiki:
Goldfish have a memory-span of at least three months and can distinguish between different shapes, colors and sounds.[15][16] By using positive reinforcement, goldfish can be trained to recognize and to react to light signals of different colors[17] or to perform tricks, such as the limbo, slalom, fetch, and soccer.[18] Fish respond to certain colors most evidently in relation to feeding.[citation needed] Fish learn to anticipate feedings provided they occur at around the same time everyday.

:mmm: Mel you will have to get another bowl and keep changing the decor for them so they do not get bored - but at this stage you may first have to bring in a "Fish Whisperer" to overcome the trauma of being locked up in the same environment for an extended period of time  ;)

Maybe a nice fishpond like Rena had built would be nice

or or get a tub like Andre has on offer

It looks like a hippo :)

I love the green surrounding it, pity they're weeds... would be really nice if it was a ground cover hey :)
