Garden ideas needed
« on: October 14, 2011, 10:23:27 AM »
Good day fellow gardeners

Once again I'm in need of ideas and help to create a garden.  This is in Mozambique and I have no idea as what flowers will be suited. I have tried Marigolds and cosmos for a start and they grew only 5cm in height and bloomed.  They were really miniture  LOL

This is the front of the house with part of the garden area

Side area

I love flowers and you hardly see any in this area.  I see a lot of Bougainvillea's, Bottle Brush trees, Capers is about the only flower I saw.

Please help and I would appreciate any seeds that will be suitable  :mmm:

Tia, you have me stumped, no idea what would grow in beach sand  LOL  sorry, I know it's not the answer you were looking for.  That sand looks like it needs serious nourishment first before anything will grow there.  Rockery with succulents, and a pot garden with better soil in it.  Maybe some geraniums, hardy herbs

In that dry shady area under the fig tree you won't find anything better than clivias. Also bromeliads.

I'd be going mad with avo trees and other tropical fruit trees there, nuts!
