Pachira
« on: November 01, 2011, 17:18:33 PM »

I received this plant as a gift, and because it kept on falling over, I repotted it - could not believe the small root system!

The name "money tree" seems to refer to a story of its origin, where a poor man prayed for money, found this "odd" plant, took it home as an omen, and made money selling plants grown from its seeds.

I am impressed with the improvement and progress your money tree is making - I feel certain your your good fortune is waiting for you just around the corner   ;)

Do you have to keep platting it as it grows ???

Cecile - did you know that your pachira tree produces nuts that taste like macadamias?  Delicious chopped up over ice cream?? (I don't have a pachira yet but have added it to that wish list after reading an article "Healing Food - pachira nut" in one of the latest gardening magazines.)  And wonderful for repairing wrinkles...................it says so ;D
