Let us have a workshop!!
« on: April 20, 2013, 12:34:34 PM »
Our forum has gone too quiet. What can we do about it? I myself am guilty, but want to make a difference. I would like to propose us workshop this and see if we can find some solutions. Can I get some feedback on the idea of a workshop? If we agree I will make some proposals how to go forward.

Chris
PS. This caulescens is flowering now.

Hi Chris - you're right, the forum has become far too quiet - I miss you guys :)

I am obviously very keen to find a solution - and will welcome any suggestions.

(I have a valid excuse for not being around - I have a problem with my eyes and was unable to see for a week - but got the very good news today that I can use my contact lenses again and don't need the corneal transplant operation at this time.  Not being able to see more than some light and shadows has been a very difficult time.  But when I left the surgeon's rooms today and watched a totally blind man trying to make his way to the reception area, I felt incredibly humble to still be able to see. I could go home and watch the white eyes and sunbirds again and enjoy my garden - but that man goes home to darkness. This info was unnecessary - and long-winded - but I have to acknowledge how blessed I am.)

That caulescens is beautiful.

Rena, I am so glad you are recovering well. Let us hope everything will be fine for ever after.

I will put some ideas forward on how we could go about to workshop the topic.

Hi Rena
Sorry to hear about your eyes and hope that all goes well with you and that your eyes get better.
Just to let you know that there are quite a few of the purple and yellow datura seeds that have formed.

Hi Chris
Wonder how your Emma Dale seedling is getting along.

Regards

Hi LeRoy,

You have a good memory. My seedling is coming on well, but seems a bid slow.
I will take photo over the weekend if I remember. Can't wait to see the first flower.

Oh Rena, I hope you're coping better with your eyes now - I have pretty poor eyesight myself, have 2 pairs of glasses for different purposes.  I'm also guilty of not contributing much to the forum, but life hasn't been to kind to me of late either.  Lost my hubby to mental illness, Tazz broke his jaw in December, he was in wire and stitches for 8 weeks, he'd just recovered, and my new orphan I adopted, a Collie mix, Basil, cut his face open and had 6 stitches, then the saddest of all, was the loss of Oscar over the Easter weekend - old man had become frail and ill and I had to make that horrible decision.... There's been a very big void in my life over the last few months

LeRoy, here is a picture of my Emma Dale baby. For those who do not know, Emma Dale is the very famous clivia of LeRoy and I was fortunate to buy one of his seedlings on an auction a year or two ago.

I never thought I'd sit and cry about a dog I met on the internet, ay old Oscie, rest in peace, and send my love to Angus, Merli and Shorty.
I'm sorry for your loss Kareen.
