     Rena,
Nice clivias!  You should join the clivia forum.  It's a loony bin ball!

Hi Mike - maybe when I'm old enough - don't think I'm loony enough yet

Very nice!

This year I looked after my clivia plants in my shade house so well, built that rocket stove to keep them warm and covered the area with plastic all to prevent frost damage. Every night I made a nice fire for them and tucked them in ;). Then end of August I took down the plastic since it got too hot during the day and also bought some nice new plants at the clivia show. And what happened? On the 1st of September we got black frost and probably half of my collection did not survive it. All the trouble for nothing! A total slaughter of clivias. Only starting to come out of the depression that caused me! But we will continue, the next weekend I bought another few nice plants at the show so we are going on. Next winter..... I will prevail!

Oh my word, Marco - how awful.  To have to pamper the plants like that and then that happens......I don't think I could handle that black frost, it must be so devastating.
