I get mad when the nurseries sell these without names - but I couldn't resist this nameless one.

Rena, I share your frustration with the nurseries who sell these small succulents - often indigenous to Southern Africa! - just with the name "cactus"! Surely these "experts" ought to know there are no indigenous cacti in Southern Africa (except for one, the Rhipsalis baccifera, which also grows in Africa and Sri Lanka).

But just as a rose by any other name smells as sweet, this "cactus" is really beautiful! Would love to know it's name!

Hi you guys.

The best I could do is Nananthus vittatus, but there seems to be quite a mix-up of names, both in the genus and specie names.

We should get a person or 2 of SANBI to join!

Regards.

Thank you, Clemens ;D That's it.

I love these smaller matt-forming succulents - and I love them even more if they have names!
