Emma Dale clivia
« on: September 08, 2015, 08:09:29 AM »
Hi All
To those that are not on the clivia forum. This is a Emma Dale clivia offset that comes out of my own breeding that was sold at the Pretoria cliva show on auction.
As many people have seen this actual plant at Pretoria I am sure that except for the fact that the lighting in the hall is much different to my shade area the colors are true as shown in this picture.
The bottom picture are some af these plants that I use in my breeding program.
Regards
LeRoy

Hi LeRoy

They are so beautiful.
You seem to have a HUGE breeding area - and very organised.
Well done!

Hi Abby
Fortunately or unfortunately I do received quite high prices for the plants and also the seeds. I do not ship plants overseas but do send seeds and I do use paypal. I must also point out that although growing clivias's from seed is a numbers game I have tried to line breed the Emma Dale plant and the (F1)  plants from the Emma Dale plant produce about 80 percent true flowering in this color combination. I will also have seeds from the F1 Emma Dale plants available next year March and they should certainly produce more than 80 percent true flowering in this color combination.
Although I talk about the Emma Dale F1 this is actually the third generation in this color combination (F3). The reason for this is that the original plant that I produced in this color combination was not named and also the F1 from that plant was not named.  I certainly have been busy with this color combination for more than 20 years. There is a link to my web site at the bottom of my postings.
